Lemeul Bishop Charlotte VT Federal cherry stand

Ca. 1810 Lemuel Bishop, Baptist Corners, Charlotte Vermont Federal cherry one drawer stand. Chamfered top set with string and banded inlaid edge. Drawer front with beveled front edge, panel, and fine checker & string inlay. Front tops of legs set with a panel with candy cane inlay surround. Bottom edge of stand case set with fine key inlaid band. Each leg set with double string inlay down three sides of the taper legs ending in a 3 sided cuff inlay. Refinished. Top reset. With note: Table originally bought from Patrick Family. - The Patrick family originally owned the 18thc Tavern on old Route 7 in Charlotte Vermont. Reference- The Best the Country Affords Vermont Furniture 1765 1850 by Kenneth Joel Zogry. Winterthur- Bishop stand. 28" h x 18" w x 17" d.
