Lengthy and Interesting Letter from Rebbetzin Sarah Schnierer, Initiator of Beit Ya'akov. Rare.

Lengthy and fascinating letter on official Beit Ya'akov of Krakow stationery, handwritten and signed by Sarah Schneirer to the communal worker, R' Yisrael Chaim Eis. Krakow, 1924.
In her letter, Sarah Schneirer speaks candidly about Beit Ya'akov, which she founded, the difficulties involved, the educational dilemmas and more. Among other things, she tells him about a play she had wanted to present, but the Belzer Rebbe, shlit"a (Rabbi Yissachar Dov) forbade her from doing so due to "chukat hagoy."
Rebbetzin Sarah Schneirer [1883-1935], founder of the Beit Ya'akov movement, established the first school for girls - which quickly became a network of schools all across Poland. She is credited with the image of the contemporary Jewish girl: scholarly, yet steeped in faith, raising generations of Talmudic scholars.
