LOT 236

Lengthy and Very Important Letter by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch. Early Tammuz, "The Month of Redemption," 1974

[ translate ]

The letter was sent to Rabbi Alexander Sender Yudasin, one of the most prominent Chabad rabbis in the Holy Land. He was the rabbi of Jaffa's Chassidic community for nearly half a century, a member of the Beit Din, and author of books on Talmud and Tanya. New York, 1974.
In the letter, which covers two pages, the Admor touches on the core issues of Chabad Chassidism: Geulah [final redemption], Torah dissemination, and promoting the observance of tefillin, mezuzah, charity, and Torah literature in every home. The Rebbe also gives advice as to how to accomplish these activities, and clarifies the differences between the Raayatz's time and our own. The Rebbe encourages the addressee with words of Torah and faith; and demonstrates recognition and appreciation for the importance of public affairs. At the end of the letter, following the signature, the Rebbe, in his famed genius, cites sources and quotations from our Sages related to the "Chabad campaigns" mentioned in this letter.
[2] Official stationery leaves. 21x28 cm. The letter is typewritten, and signed at the bottom in his hand. Includes another correction, also in his handwriting.
