Lighter - .925 silver - England - Early 20th century
Silver Lighter with reservoir for lamp oil (Petroleum) . Made in England in the City Birmingham. Hallmarked/stamped with the “British Hallmarks”. The maker, year letter, City crest and the Standing lion (Sterling) . Also provided with Z1. So, also re-assayed in Gouda where they established that it has a minimal silver content of 925/1000 pure silver. The makers mark and year letter are worn due to old age and the regular "polishing" of it. The 2 silver rods which serve as "fire sticks" cq "matches" to light the cigars are included which is quite "exceptional". Dated circa 1910-1930. Height approx. 9 cm in total and the diameter of the underplate (ash tray) approx. 13 cm. The rods have a length of 6. 8 cm. A true “collectors item” which is in a good “ready to use” condition with normal signs of wear and scratches. The silver weight is 137 grams of sterling silver. Will be packaged with care and shipped registered.
