**Originally Listed At $600**

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero State, Xochipala culture, Mesoamerican Formative Period, ca. 13th to 10th century CE. A fine pair of hand-built pottery females in seated positions with crossed legs and ample hips. The figures sit nude with straight postures, slender waists, and rounded shoulders which elongate into sinuous arms. The coffee-bean-shaped eyes, triangular noses, smiling mouths, and pierced ears create the minimalist visage of each woman, and their heads are topped with centrally-parted coiffures. Covered in chalky white pigment, this is a fine set of ancient Mexican artistry! Size of each (both are relatively similar): 2.1" W x 3.25" H (5.3 cm x 8.3 cm).

Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s to mid-1980s

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.

A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.

We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.

#142982
Condition Report: Both figures repaired from multiple pieces with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Both figures have minor nicks to legs, bodies, arms, and heads, with softening to some finer details, and fading to original white pigmentation. Light earthen deposits throughout.
