Lot of 2 Roman Bone Beads w/ Incised Motifs
**First Time At Auction**
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Two hand-carved bovine or ungulate bone beads, hand-drilled through the center for stringing. These beads are flat on one side and slightly domed with etched triangular lines and circular motifs on the other side, reminiscent of sea urchins. They are approximately the same size, and could be strung together as a necklace bauble, or separately as earrings! Size: 1.125" W (2.9 cm)
Provenance: ex-Estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA acquired before 2000
