Ancient Near East, Luristan, northwestern Iran, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. The largest is a sitting duck, which is apparent through its large bill, curved neck, and grooves indicating its wings on both sides. The mid-sized pin displays a second seated animal, possibly a fanged feline.
