Ancient South Arabia, Yemen, ca. 3rd century BCE to 1st century CE. A gathering of 3 items from ancient South Arabia. First is a small grave marker carved from yellow-white alabaster with a rectangular body, a projecting upper tab with several incised striations, and a quartet of drilled mortises on the verso. Second is a miniature goblet, carved from tan-hued stone with dark inclusions, with an apple-shaped cup resting atop a tiered pedestal base. Last is a pottery jarlet with a planar base, a cylindrical body, and a pair of lateral fins. Size of largest (grave marker): 2.5" W x 4" H (6.4 cm x 10.2 cm).
Provenance: private Texas, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000 by late husband
