Louis Le Poittevin (1847-1909) was a French painter known for his Impressionist style. He was born in Paris, France, and studied art under Leon Bonnat and Jean-Leon Gerome. Le Poittevin's paintings often depicted landscapes, seascapes, and urban scenes. He was a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais and exhibited regularly at the Salon. Le Poittevin's work was highly regarded for his use of light and color to capture the essence of his subjects. He was known for his ability to convey the mood and atmosphere of a scene, and his loose brushwork. He died in Paris in 1909, leaving behind a legacy as one of France's foremost Impressionist painters.
