He lived in rue Myrha in the heart of the Goutte d'Or district, without papers or money. Starting in 1935, he exhibited in leading Parisian salons: Salon d'Automne, Salon des Indépendants, Salon des Peintres Témoins de leur Temps.Louis Toffoli is best known for his colorful, fragmentary figurative paintings and landscapes. His style is characterized by: clarity and light: In his works, the light seems to penetrate all the elements, creating an impression of purity and deep intimacy with the figures depicted. He often achieved this by breaking down his impersonal figures into various overlapping parts, giving them an ethereal appearance. He was interested in human movement and work: One of the main themes of his work was "the world at work," where he depicted people busy in various forms of effort. He painted what he loved and felt, passionately depicting picturesque scenes of everyday life. Louis Toffoli often used the oil chalk technique in his painted works, which allowed the specific penetration of light through the ground, often an oily canvas. He was also a prolific lithographer, and the lithographic technique helped popularize his paintings. His works are in many museums around the world, particularly in Germany, Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Sweden and the United States. The frames shown in the visualizations are for reference only and do not constitute a commercial offer
