Year 1713. Copper-engraved map. 13.5x17.5 cm, on sheet with text measuring 29.3x20.5 cm. First appearing in Magini's 1596 edition of Ptolemy's Geography, based largely Ortelius with the characteristic bulge along the west coast of South America. The present example was published in Alphonse Lasor a Varea's "Universus terrarum orbis scriptorum calami delineates" in 1713.Provenance: Private Collection, Amsterdam
