MASSIVE CONFEDERATE D-GUARD BOWIE KNIFE IN
ORIGINAL DEERSKIN SHEATH. This exact knife is pictured on page 222 of “Confederate Bowie Knives” 2012 by Melton Phillips, Sexton. This unique knife measures 24 1/4” overall, has clip point blade 19 1/4”, the sheath is stitched deerskin still w/ hair attached. This is the only knife noted by Authors w/ a deerskin scabbard that is thought to be Confederate & not early American. The wood grip is carved in a very folky flavor.
