MERCURY - Parklane Marauder convertible - 1966

Mercury Parklane Marauder Convertible. Rare full size 1960s convertible, only 2546 copies produced. Big block V8 Ford, FE390 with 6. 4 litre, 300HP and nice quiet V8 sound from dual exhaust. Car of an enthusiast and well-maintained, stands in a garage and is only driven during good weather. Recently appraised at 29,750 euros. Exempt from road tax in the Netherlands, Dutch Periodic Vehicle Inspection is valid until 9-3-2020. Model with optional bucket seats, power steering, power brakes, electrically operated top, electric antenna, original radio (not connected, MP3 radio with USB connection in glove compartment) and air conditioning ex factory. Everything functions except the clock in the dashboard and the air conditioning/heating which is not connected considering use in the summer with open top. In 2018, the FE390 engine was fully professionally inspected, cylinder heads flattened, gaskets replaced, equipped with new Edelbrock performer manifold, Edelbrock 1406 carburettor and air filter. (Original still present) Engine equipped with Petronix electronic ignition. New thermostat and aluminium expansion tank so that, along with the radiator core that was replaced in 2016, it is not overheating. In 2018, the C6 automatic gearbox was also professionally overhauled, due to oil leakage on the gaskets. The convertible top has been replaced in 2016 by a more luxurious fabric variant with glass rear window. Other recent maintenance: 2018 window rubbers, dimmer illumination and new belts for all 4 seats, (on registration is indicated: no compulsory seat belts) 2017 New battery2015, new speaker in dashboard & radio with USB in glove compartment. 2012 New Whitewall tyres and brake lines The car has been imported to the Netherlands in 1993 and has been repainted in the original colour in the late 1990s. Paint and chrome are in good condition. Technically, the Mercury shares many parts with the Ford Galaxy & Ford Mustang, and it is therefore easy to get parts. In short, all the major technical issues have been recently addressed and the car is ready for the summer! The car can be viewed and collected in Zuidlaren, the Netherlands.
