MOCHE PAINTED "FLORERO" VESSEL WITH TL

Description: A superb mochica bichrome pottery "florero vessel". The outside and the inside are decorated with the same thematic. The interior appears decorated with 4 large , flying condors eating from offering plates. On the outside it can be seen how a warrior and a fantastic figure try to hunt a condor in flight. The fantasy creature has an anthropomorphic body, a crocodile head and a snake-like tail and horns. On the other side, there is a seated figure of a priest or cazique with aquiline nose who has caught another condor by the tail. Includes thermoluminescence certificate. Moche. North coast of Peru. 400-700 AC.

Condition: Some areas with repaint. Very fine condiition. Notes: The piece includes authenticity certificate.
