MOSSBERG MODEL 44 US BOLT ACTION .22 RIFLE

NSN. BARREL 26". CALIBER .22 LONG RIFLE. This rifle was made from 1944-49 for the US Government contracts as training rifles for the military. It features a heavy round barrel with hooded ramp front sight, no rear barrel sight cut, blue finish with plain pistol grip hardwood stock with wide fore-end. Stock sports sling eyes and metal finish. Rifle is magazine fed and comes with one magazine. The scope is a period Weaver B-6 model. Barrel retains about 85-90% original blue with handling marks. The floor plate has some freckling. Stock is excellent with just minor impressions. Bore and action are fine. Nice example of US military issued training rifle. C&R
