A rare original vintage photograph of avant-garde dancer Anita Berber, by Madame d'Ora, shot in 1920. Provenance: Photography auction Vienna, May 3, 2012, (see last jpg for a scan of the catalogue page) . Gelatin silver print on fiber-based matte finish paper 22. 7cm x 14. 6cm. Annotations in pencil on the reverse. Condition: overall very good. Anita Berber (10 June 1899 – 10 November 1928) was a German dancer, actress, and writer who was the subject of an Otto Dix painting. Berber visited Vienna for the first time in 1920 and d'Ora took already some photos of her, one made it on the cover of the magazine 'Komödie'. It is this photo here up for auction. To my knowledge this is the only existing vintage print in this large format.
