[ translate ]

\Artist: Maestro lombardo del XVII secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 5_83_69_cm
In this seventeenth-century painting the influence of great Lombard Baroque painters, such as Cesare Procaccini and Daniele Crespi, is evident as regards the iconography of the "Pietà". Note the colour difference of the virgin's face, compared to the hands, an indication that the artist wanted to recall the lifeless colour of the dead Christ, to emphasize the despair and emotional involvement, in the face of the Virgin. Behind, Mary Magdalene observes the mother of Christ with tenderness and participation, as if to console her with her hand resting on her shoulder. Coeval stretcher with old inscriptions on the back and beautiful black and gold frame from a later period. Maximum size: 83x69 cm. Purchased at an auction house in Bologna. IMPORTANT: the shipment has insurance, however according to articles 1510 and 1693 of the Italian civil code, the parcel is shipped at the buyer’s risk and responsibility of the shipper, not the seller who is exempt from it by law. Shipping to the E. U. only (no shipping available to the rest of the world) .
