Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Shelf Clock, Aaron Willard, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1795-1800, the stepped cresting centering a reeded plinth with brass finial flanked by cutout embellishments, above the inlaid hood with glazed kidney-shaped door opening to a conformingly shaped white and black-painted and polychrome decorated dial lettered "A. WILLARD.," eight-day brass weight-driven movement, and case below with stepped molding above bracket feet, ht. with finial 32 3/4 in.
Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Proceeds to benefit the museum's acquisition fund.
