Double hemisphere world map "Engraved for Guthries new System of Geography." Larfe, detailed map of world exploration, especially British, at the end of the 18th century. Shows the tracks of all three Cook voyages including the Sandwich Islands "here Capt. Cook was kill'd Febr. 14, 1779." U.S. west coast called New Albion. Among placenames in U.S. west are Sta. Fe, Axaas, Quivira, Bagopas, Teguayo, Texas, St. Pedro, Yumas (where Yuma, AZ is today). Australia (New Holland) oddly shaped to include Tasmania. Original outline color but border color seems enhanced. Right margin repaired.
