Frame dimensions 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 in.
Mariana Heyward Taylor Manning was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. Her aunt, Anna Heyward Taylor, was one of South Carolina's leading artists of the 20th century and introduced her niece to numerous prominent artists of the day. Mariana taught sculpture at the University of South Carolina in the 1940s. She later moved with her husband to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she continued her artistic endeavors, ultimately favoring collage.
The Estate of the late Frank Daniels, Jr. and his wife Julia Jones Daniels, Raleigh, North Carolina. A portion of the sale proceeds will be donated to the North Carolina Museum of History Foundation
