Mark Kostabi (b. 1960), Blown away, 2023

He grew up in Whittier, California and studied drawing and painting at California State University, Fullerton. He moved to New York in 1982 and became a prominent figure in the East Village art scene in 1984.Kostabi is best known for his paintings of nameless figures, whose stylistic roots lie in the works of Giorgio de Chirico and Fernand Léger.
