Martian shergottite meteorite. Paired w/ NWA12564. Mars rock - 10.6 g

[ translate ]

Martian meteorites are the result of another meteorite hitting Mars and releasing its rock into space, where they were floating for probably millions of years until their trajectory led them to Earth. This martian shergottite meteorite was found in the same place of the newly discovered NWA 12564 strewnfield in Algeria. It was found in 2019. A sample was sent to Dr. Tony Irving at the University of Washington, one of the Worlds foremost experts on planetary material, and it was confirmed to be "an aphyric diabasic shergottite visually consistent with NWA 12564". Its mineralogy was also analyzed in the University of Granada and was confirmed to be identical to the NWA 12564 meteorite. It is known that these meteorites are from the Mars because martian rocks have been analyzed and their composition has been studied, and then it can be scientifically proven that they cannot come from any other part of the Solar System but from Mars. This piece weighs 10,581. Certificate of authenticity included. IMCA 5591. Last photo is courtesy of NASA. Packages are usually sent the morning after the auction. Shipping is combined in all my listings - if you win multiple items, only one shipping cost is paid. Do not miss this opportunity!
