Martin Yeoman, British b.1953- Yemeni Men smoking a Water Pipe and chewing Qat II; oil on canvas, signed, 76.5x102cm (ARR) Provenance: Petley Fine Art, London, where purchased by the present owner Note: Yeoman is best known for his depictions of the Royal Family and accompanying the Prince of Wales on a number of tours teaching him to paint. In November 1986 the Prince and Yeoman went on an official tour of the Gulf. A few months later, Yeoman returned to the Gulf States under the sponsorship of Sheikh Khalifa of Qatar and went onto visit North Yemen which inspired a large portion of his work.
