Mask Ligbi, Ivory Coast. Around 1930. Wood and vegetable fibres. Height: 22 cm; Width: 13 cm; Depth: 11. 5 cm. Anthropomorphic mask in wood, in an oval and bulging shape. It is decorated with two horns topping the forehead and pointing to the cheeks. There are two protrusions at the level of the temples. The eyes in coffee beans are incised with two thin rectangles. The mouth, slightly carved in relief, is pouting. Provenance: - Former Guy Mercier Collection. - Former Jean-Charles Mercier Collection. - Gallery Essentiel, Belgium.
