Massive Japanese Porcelain Charger

Massive Japanese porcelain charger, hand-painted in underglaze-blue, iron red, and gilding. Decorated with four fan-shaped vignettes that depict a scene with cranes, a ship at sea, and a phoenix. Dimensions are: 21 3/8 inches diameter X 2 3/4 inches tall. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Free of cracks, chips, or repairs. Wear and loss of gilding on rim. Provenance: From a single owner collection of Northern Virginia gentleman.
