Mattia Traverso was born in Genoa in 1885, studied at the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa until 1911, when he received a scholarship that allowed him to travel to Rome where he also dedicated himself to creating works of religious painting and religious themes.
In the same way, he dedicated himself to commissioned works especially for the bourgeoisie of Genoa.
He died in Genoa in 1956.
