He was killed in action on the Western Front on 19 July 1916, aged 33, and is buried at Laventie Military Cemetery, la Gorgue, France.William Whitlock, a native of Lymington, Hampshire, attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War.
