Medicine.- Diemerbroeck (Isbrand de) The Anatomy of Human Bodies... to which is added a particular treatise of the small-pox & measles, translated by William Salmon, second edition in English, title printed in red and black with double-rule border, engraved portrait frontispiece of the translator by R. White, 16 engraved folding plates, some creasing and a few short tears to plates, 2 plates with longer repaired tears running into image, small rust hole to first R1 and second Z2 and 2B2 with loss to 1 or 2 letters of text, the odd spot or light marking, but a good, clean copy generally, contemporary panelled calf, neatly and sympathetically rebacked and with extremities repaired, [Wellcome 11, p.467; Wing D1416], folio, for W. Whitwood at the Angel and Bible in Little-Britain, 1694.

⁂ Diemerbroeck (1609-1674) gained renown for his studies of the Black Death and later his studies of anatomy. Both this and the first English edition are scarce.
