Medieval Western European Iron Scythe Blade

Medieval Western Europe, probably England or France, ca. 13th to 14th century CE. A forged-iron scythe blade with a tall, curved blade bearing a pointed tip. The jutting shoulder is meant to structurally reinforce the swinging blade and the tapered tang was inserted within a wooden shaft, perhaps with lateral handles for ease of use. Size: 12.125" W x 6.7" H (30.8 cm x 17 cm)
