Mercedes-Benz - 220A Ponton - 1956

[ translate ]

Mercedes-Benz 220A (W180) Ponton in neat condition from 1956. This Mercedes from sunny Spain has Spanish registration papers. The Mercedes Ponton was the first completely new Mercedes series after World War II. The Ponton replaced the 170 model which was manufactured until 1942. The 220A was a more luxurious and improved version of the W120 model 180 with an extended wheelbase. The passenger section was extended by 70 mm to create more legroom for rear passengers. These six-cylinder Pontons easily stand out from their shorter, four-cylinder siblings because of the extra "quarter light" windows on the rear doors. There are fewer and fewer of these Mercedes cars to be found, certainly the W180 version with the larger engine is rarely offered. This Mercedes starts immediately and idles nicely, it has black paintwork and a beautiful, beige (artificial) leather interior, a nice combination for those years. This Mercedes is in original condition. The beige (artificial) leather interior and engine bay are in relatively neat condition, especially for a car this age. The car is equipped with euro bumpers, hubcaps, original Becker radio and an original user manual. This 220A looks neat, but it is a 65-year-old car with some beauty flaws which are to be expected given its age (see photos) . It is up to you to take the car to the next level or enjoy it as it is. These Mercedes-Benz Pontons are becoming increasingly difficult to find, don't wait too long and become the new owner of this timeless classic. The Mercedes-Benz may have sustained some signs of age and wear given its age (see photos) . It is recommended to view the car prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment afterwards. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment. The car can be viewed and picked up in Lemmer, the Netherlands.
