. This Mercedes shifts smoothly through all of its gears and brakes properly. The interior is in fair condition, as shown.

. The car comes with the original hardtop, the soft top needs to be replaced. The car still has its original paintwork. This is pretty neat but it does show some hairline cracks and it has some chips (see photos) . This is driver-quality paint, which is to be expected from a 47-year-old car. The interior is reasonably tidy and has some damage in places (see photos) .
. The chassis needs some welding (see photos) .

. What makes this Mercedes so special is that it is one of the last American models, with small “European” bumpers on the front and back. After legislation changed in America in 1973, it had to become impossible for any damage to occur in the event of a collision at 10 km/h or less, bumpers on newer models were longer and larger, these can absorb an impact due to their built-in suspension.
