The R107 replaced the W113 (Pagoda) in 1971 and was succeeded by the W126C in 1981 for the coupe models (SLC) and by the R129 in 1989 for the convertible models (SL) . This Mercedes starts instantly and idles nicely. It shifts smoothly through all gears and brakes properly. The interior is still in a relatively neat (and original) condition, the dashboard is still intact which is unique for a car that is 45 years old. There is however a small tear in the driver seat (see photo) . The soft-top has some tears and needs to be repaired. The car’s red paintwork is in good condition apart from some small traces of wear which one may expect to find on an older car. There’s also some welding required at the driver’s side, the bottom plate needs to be replaced. The engine compartment looks fresh and cared for. All in all a car that requires relatively little effort for it to be elevated to the next level.
