Mid 16th Century Flemish Old Master Madonna & Saints

This large XVI 16th century (ca. 1550) Flemish old master oil on panel depicts the divine appearance of the Madonna and Child uniting a royal couple. To the lower left is Saint Anthony, accompanied by a donor to the right, the latter bearing an inscription "my age was 32 years in the year of the loss of my wife". Thus, this painting is an allegory of a marriage subsisting beyond death. Large framed work, oil on oak panel, originating from an important German private collection. Minor signs of restoration.
