Milo Manara (1945)

[ translate ]

Milo Manara Genius #1 Splash Page 84 Original Art (Furio Viano Editoré, 1969). Milo Manara's first published comic book work was this story from the first issue of Genius. Pages from this series hardly ever turn up, especially in the United States... especially from the first issue... and we have two of them in this auction! On this page, Lon is worried that he is not the "wolf" in this image, but rather the prey! As the story was about a werewolf, his name is likely a reference to Lon Chaney Jr. A stunning piece that shows even this early, Manara knew how to render the female form. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". There is a bit of whiteout art correction on the page. Signed by Manara in the lower right margin. In Excellent condition.
