Miniature Greek Blackware Baby Feeder + Jug

Greece, Southern Italy, Campania, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A fabulous set of two miniature black-glazed pottery vessels from ancient Campania. First is a squat baby feeder with a flat base, a carinated body, a petite flared rim, and a pierced conical mouthpiece projecting from the side. Second is a short olpe with an apple-shaped body adorned with several vertical ribs, a corseted neck, a flared rim surrounding a wide mouth, and a strap handle arching between rim and shoulder. Size of largest (olpe): 2" W x 2.375" H (5.1 cm x 6 cm).

Condition Report: Both vessels have minor abrasions to bodies and bases, and light fading to original glaze pigmentation, otherwise intact and excellent. Light earthen deposits throughout. Baby feeder has old inventory label beneath base.
