Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan area, Tarascan culture, ca. 1350 to 1521 CE. A rare stone chisel, made from a dark, highly polished stone, perhaps used in the creation of pottery or the carving of other types of stone. Size: 0.55" W x 2.6" H (1.4 cm x 6.6 cm)
Provenance: ex-private collection of the late Father Bader, University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas, USA; exhibited in the University of St. Thomas Art Gallery, acquired prior to 2000
