Looking past straight poplars over sunny, lushly flowering mountain meadows on the riverbank, to churches and villages at the foot of imposing, towering mountains, the scene is spanned by a light-blue sky with fragrant clouds, the painting, which is unusually large in format for the artist, captivates with a thoroughly positive quality, the bright light and the flower meadow with dandelion, dandelions, dandelion blowers, grasses and bellflowers spreading out in the foreground in luminous splendour, slightly pasty landscape painting, oil on hardboard, around 1960, signed "Minni Herzing" at lower left, framed Crimmitschau label on the reverse, somewhat in need of cleaning, framed, fold approx. 82 by 100 cm. Artist info: actually Hermine Herzing, called: "Blumenminni", engl. Painter, etcher, porcelain painter and illustrator (1883 Frankfurt am Main until 1968 Karl-Marx-Stadt), first lessons with her father in painting and lithography, studied at the Academy Hanau, first working as a design draftswoman for embroideries and handicrafts, 1910-34 in Dresden, here student of Georg Hermann Gelbke and Willy Kriegel, from 1934 working in Chemnitz (Karl-Marx-Stadt), source: Vollmer and Wikipedia.
