Minton Porcelain Pate-Sur-Pate Japonism Vases, c1880
An unusual pair of 19th Century English porcelain Japonism vases by Minton, with polychrome pate-sur-pate decoration. One with a possum in white slip, the other an otter, both with wheat, green and brown backgrounds in slip against and olive green ground. The rims and bases with gilt bands. An impressed Minton mark on each vase with an obscure date mark to circa 1880. Apparently unsigned artist.
