These parcels are close Batard Montrachet, Le Montrachet and Chevalier Montrachet. Top winemaker, Fontaine Gagnard from Chassagne Montrachet close to Puligny and Meursault where top winemakers are situated like Pierre Yves Colin Morey, Coche Dury, Ente, Roulot, Lamy Caillat, Vincent Dancer, D'Auvenay, Ramonet and Leflaive. The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean has also turned out well, unfurling with aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and fresh pastry. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely defined, its fleshy core of fruit balanced by juicy acids. From a site in the village of Chassagne that's a veritable heat trap comes the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos des Murées, a fleshy, enveloping, medium to full-bodied wine evocative of pear, white flowers, orange blossom and honeycomb. Céline Gagnard told me that her team couldn't work in this vineyard in the afternoon in 2018 and 2019 as it was simply too warm. Fast and very good and carefull packaging. I will not send in the original crate but in special boxes specially made for shipping wines.
