Muonionalusta Meteorite Cube Iron, IVA Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E) Found: 1906 One of the distinguishing characteristics of this meteorite cube is a large Troilite distinguishable on one of the faces. This rare Iron sulfide mineral is diagnostic of meteorites and is the most common sulfide mineral found on the lunar surface. This nearly 2-inch cube weighs a stout 707 grams and displays the mesmerizing Widmanstätten "latticework" pattern on all faces. The cube has a "rough" texture, which adds more dimension to this dramatic offering. This is a superb example of a famed Swedish meteorite. Overall Measurements: 1.82 x 1.78 x 1.74 inches (4.62 x 4.52 x 4.43 cm) [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
