Murano Sommerso (?) Art Glass Purple Sculpted rim Bowl

Item details

Vintage from the 1960s

Production data is not available but is very much in the Murano style. More specific, the craftsmanship in this piece can I only find comparable to work of Alfredo Barbini (1912-2007). Supporting this speculation is that an almost identical crystal bear attributed to Alfredo was obtained at the same location. Additional supporting evidence is the color of glass appears to be the same as some of his bowls with comparable ribs. And lastly, a vase of close comparison to one attributed to him was also obtained from the same location.
No chips or cracks detected. The pictures demonstrate the elegance better than any words I could use.
Murano glass is produced on the island of Murano, Venetia Italy. Google Murano Glass for details on the history of their methods. These folks produce very original, unique, attractive and quality products that you can be proud to own and display to your family and guests.
Approx. 13” X 9” and 4” tall
