The fall of Nantan meteorite was observed in 1516, although the pieces that we can see today were recovered from the year 1958 on, when they tried to melt them for their use in the growing industrialization of the Asian country. The meteorite exploded during its passage through the atmosphere and the pieces were scattered in a field of 28 kilometres long and 8 kilometres wide, near the city of Nantan, Guangxi (China) Nantan meteorite is classified as IAB-MG in 2006. Most of the fragments show strong signs of weathering, due to the long time that it took to recover them. Meteoric iron has a nickel concentration of 6. 96%. We have a magnificent specimen of this meteorite for auction, essential in any collection, with museum quality and size, and in perfect conditions.
