Napoleonic War, British Light Cavalry Officer "Mameluke" Sword. Custom made Oriental fittings with a 1788 pattern Light Cavalry Saber blade from Woolley & Co. Single-edged, curved steel blade, maker marked on the spine near the crossguard. Shamshir style nickel-silver plated solid brass handle and lightly decorated crossguard. Red leather band covered wooded scabbard with nickel-silver plated fittings and decorated steel chape. Blade Length: 31" | Total Length: 37"
Condition Report: Very good. Dark spotting and oxidation bubbling throughout the blade.
