NWA 13038 Martian Meteorite - Main Mass Martian (shergottite) Northwest Africa Found: 2019 This rock from space has a "patchwork" appearance with amazing sections of brownish fusion crust over its otherwise granular gray composition. The meteorite represents NWA 13038, a Martian variety that is also the MAIN MASS of the shergottite which was found in 2019. Weighing 553.8 grams, the rugged and rough example is visually extremely unusual. This is one important and superb piece of the Planet Mars, ideal for any serious meteorite collection. High shock and low weathering characterize this significant and collectible offering. Representing well over 90 percent of the total mass of NWA 13038, the type is also a rarity inasmuch as there are less than 300 approved meteorites from the Red Planet. Essentially, this is a single stone meteorite of which this is virtually all of the material available. Aphyric, intersertal texture is another attribute of this complicated, complex, and sizable representation with one very unique surface.
