NWA 15327 Chondrite Meteorite Carbonaceous Chondrite, CK6 Northwest Africa Found: 2021 Presented on a custom, artisan, wooden base with a metal pin, this absolutely tremendous carbonaceous Chondrite of the CK6 variety is simply a quintessential specimen. The flight-oriented offering consists of an incredible "nose cone" meteorite with an outstanding dark brownish coloration, intricate craquelure patterning, fine texture, and superlative aesthetics. Representing NWA 15327, the anomalous petrologic type 6 material on the museum mount is so visually striking that one does not even need to appreciate meteorites in order to have a reaction to the inherent dynamism of the piece and the obvious story it reveals about its voyage to the Earth. The rock weighing 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) is a virtually perfect example of flight orientation. The finished wooden base features one opened and naturally-appearing edge, which, when coupled with the undeniable artistic quality of this meteorite, turns this presentation into a work of art. Overall Measurements: 10.63 x 8.86 x 5.51 inches (27.00 x 22.50 x 14.00 cm), meteorite weighs 2,000 grams HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
