NWA Ordinary Chondrite Meteorite Unclassified Ordinary Chondrite Northwest Africa While this Chondrite is technically unclassified, there is definitely nothing ordinary about it. The sizable specimen weighing 1.4 kilograms (3 pounds) boasts a spectacular "wet" texture to much of its complex and highly bumpy exterior display surface. The opposite side is rocky and mottled. This meteorite has a great shape and stands in a vertical orientation without the need for a base. Not surprisingly, from the iconic Northwest Africa region, this is basic in nature but highly appealing in aesthetics. The duality of surfaces is equaled by the duality of hues, with both light and chocolate brown well represented. This material is rewarding to hold and, of course, is a rather large space rock.
