Magnificent Naïn rug from Iran. Naïn rugs are arguably the "cream on the top" of all Persian rugs. These rugs have a very high reputation and are extremely beautiful and finely knotted. Naïn are made in workshops in the city of Naïn, near the Dasht-e-kavar desert and come in a number of designs, predominantly blue red green and white. Naïn uphold such fine weaving that they even have their own standards of quality defined with the value "LA". This indicates the number of threads used in the weft and warp of the rug and can be determind by counting the threads at the fringes. Naïn are extremely valuable rugs, and are an amazing piece of art work and pride altogether. Having one for an interior is no short of a privilege and would make an excellent investment for the future! Rug is on overall in good condition, and has aged gracefully. Colors still remain wonderful and captivating, pile overal is very beautiful apart from showing some distress. Fringes are intact. Rug has traces of usage and aging.
