Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery figures, each standing atop delineated legs. The first figure holds a sizable pipe or wind instrument to their lips while the second, taller figure depicts a mother wearing a striped skirt and headband while holding a petite child in her arms. Each figure is decorated with red and cream-hued pigment to create a wondrous bichrome presentation. Size of largest: 2" L x 4.25" W x 5.6" H (5.1 cm x 10.8 cm x 14.2 cm)
