Neapolitan School, late 18th/early 19th Century- Italian mountainous coastal scenes with figures in the foreground; oils on panel, oval, each 25 x 35 cm, a pair (2). Provenance: Private Collection, UK.
Both are held in gilded frames. The paint surface on both is slightly discoloured with some fine craquelure in areas, and slight frame scuffing around the edges. UV light inspection of the first reveals some areas of retouching in the sky around the tree and areas around the edges of the panel. The second has minor spots of retouching in the sky.
