[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $250**

Ancient Near East, Islamic, ca. 5th to 10th century CE. A gorgeous necklace composed of twenty-four glass beads, four faience beads, a pair of petite snail shells, and a dark-grey stone disc pendant in the center. Each of the glass and faience beads exhibit an attractive blue-green hue, and the glass beads bear applied trails of opaque black glass. A handful of the glass beads have developed faint rainbow-hued iridescence across their exterior surfaces, and one tubular glass bead has even formed specks of golden patina as well. Strung in modern times and capped with a silver-plated loop and lobster clasp, this is an expressive example of ancient artistry! Size (necklace): 20" L (50.8 cm); (disc pendant): 1.25" in diameter (3.2 cm).

Provenance: ex-private Shenas collection, Queens, New York, USA, imported into the US in 1972

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
